Happy Simelane claims Mel Viljoen scammed her
IOL reported in 2024 that The Mommy Club star Happy Simelane claimed on Carte Blanche that she paid The Real Housewives of Pretoria star Mel Viljoen and her husband Peet Viljoen R2.8 million intended for a Tammy Taylor franchise. Simelane reportedly never received ownership of the beauty salon.
According to TV with Thinus, Simelane shared that she paid R2.8 million in cash in July 2021 to become a franchisee for a Tammy Taylor Menlyn Maine store in Pretoria.
However, Simelane never received the keys to the store or access to the bank account.
Mel Viljoen responded to Simelane's claims and said The Mommy Club star failed to honour her commitment, despite being given ample time to correct the breach.
Viljoen also defended herself against the accusations and said that the claims were false and baseless, and suggested that Her Majesty “sued herself” over the disputed funds.
