Reality TV star Mome Mahlangu has broken her silence and addressed speculation surrounding her seemingly drastic weight loss.

The wife of outspoken comedian Tol Ass Mo, who previously inspired South Africans with her weight loss journey in 2020, had several netizens concerned with her recent appearance. The Cream Cartel star set the record straight on the cause of her weight loss.

Mome Mahlangu breaks silence on weight loss

In an Instagram post shared on Friday, 1 August 2025, Mome Mahlangu shared a picture standing alongside her daughter with Tol Ass Mo. In the picture, Mome and her daughter Khumo are rocking coordinated outfits.

Mome shared that the picture was taken after attending an event at her children, Khumo and her younger sister, Teamo Oluhleuthando’s school on Friday, 1 August 2025. The post was captioned:

“Happy women's month. Spent a cold Friday morning supporting @khumopanda and @taytaytheadventure at their school #entrepreneursday with my hair not done.”

Mome Mahlangu then dismissed speculation that she had lost weight due to sickness.

“Those concerned about my weight, I'm not sick,” she added.

The Mo & Mome star shared an operation to remove a lump from her womb. She added that she initially didn’t want to shed light on the procedure, but did so after questions about her weight loss.

“I had a sensitive operation removing a lump, I didn't think I had to announce my womb,” Mome Mahlangu said.

She emphasised that her current weight is healthy regardless of her appearance. Mome Mahlangu shared that she is eating healthy and her body is healing well.

“I'm not underweight according to my doctor, just lost 5kg, I still eat healthy, no further discussion, ke happy, ke healthy and my body healing, ❤️🙏 be Kind,” she concluded.
