The Real Housewives of Durban reality TV star, Ameigh Thompson, went on social media this week to share her thoughts on stepparenting. Little did she know that would be the start of a heated back-and-forth with The Mommy Club reality TV star, Nozipho Ntshangase's stepchild, Coco Ntshangase.
Taking to Instagram this week, Coco posted three selfies with her new stepmommy, Misokuhle Ntshangase. The selfies were enough to ignite a fire inside Ameigh, who gave a strong-worded lashing against stepkids.
Ameigh advises against raising stepkids
Although Thompson did mention the Ntshangases, her message landed on its intended target, and she was dragged. Thompson boldly advised people to never bend over backwards for kids they did not give birth to, stating that there is nothing you can do for them.

“Evil stepmothers always endure the longest, while we, who are like Bob the Builder, face the greatest challenges. If you have no relationship with your children as their father, it is better to leave it that way; trying to fix it may only make you the enemy.”
She said she could write a whole book about stepkids.
“Their loyalties will always lie with their parent [no matter how toxic they are] and whoever holds daddy’s bank card,” she mentioned.

Her views invited drama her way as Coco Ntshangase swore at her and asked her to mind her own business.
After engaging with Coco and refusing to retract her words, Thompson took to her Instagram stories and advised people to refrain from sending screenshots of what was said about her.
"Refrain from sending me screenshots of what she's saying. I will not have a back and forth with her..I am not interested in knowing what she has to say. I spoke about evil, ungrateful step-kids and that's that! Ngisamile futhi lapho! Don't bend backwards for stepchildren my loves, okay?!"
Amokuhle came into the picture after Zola Ntshangase decided to take a second wife.
Mzansi continues to weigh in on Ntshangase drama
Social media users did not hold back in offering their mixed opinions on this drama.
Nthabiseng Kgatla Ngoepe remarked:
"Nozi did her best, and that was what her role is to be in the daughter's life. She should not expect the daughter to stand by her side, esp when she can make a decision for herself to interact with the new wife. Stepchildren are tricky, and at best, you can love them while safeguarding your heart, too. I think she should focus on her relationship with her daughter and stay out of the daughter building bestie sentiments with the new sister wife."

"Understanding 'seasons', and our roles as we navigate life. is important. Everyone had a specific role to play, and like seasons, things change. What’s crazy is how society expects a child to choose sides when no one really knows what’s going on."
