A social media user resurfaced a video of a young Mmusi Maimane performing a Kwaito song, leaving Mzansi, including Sol Phenduka, amused.

On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, social media user @Sentletse took to X and shared a throwback video of the Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader performing one of his Kwaito songs on the popular SABC1 2000s Christian show, Crux.

The video was captioned:

“Did you all know that Dr Maimane (Mjita wako kasi) was an aspiring kwaito star? 😂😂😂”

In the video, Mmusi Maimane was dressed in full Kwaito drip: a slim-fit t-shirt, jeans, a bucket hat and a toothpick in his mouth to complete the look. He performed his song alongside his dancers.

Sol Phenduka faces legal action over Podcast and Chill comments

Sol Phenduka's reaction to Maimane's throwback video comes at a time when he and his Podcast and Chill co-host MacG are facing legal action.
