Annie Mthembu's ex-husband has finally come forward to address the cheating allegations against him.
Businessman and nightclub owner Kgolo Daguru's marriage crumbled after his wife left The Real Housewives of Durban, which coincided with a downturn in his business.
Annie revealed in an interview on Engineer Your Life that the reason she left Daguru was that he was seeing other women behind her back, leaving her humiliated and blindsided by who he really was in the outside world.

Annie's interview sparked backlash, leaving Kgolo with no choice but to address the situation with an apology to his former wife and the mother of his children.
He responded to a snippet of the conversation on Instagram on 12 August 2025, apologising to Annie for betraying her and their family, and alluding to facing personal struggles:
"No matter the personal struggles I was facing, there's never an excuse for dishonouring God's blessings. I deeply regret the pain l've caused you. As the head of the family, I let everyone down."

The businessman went on to bid farewell to his ex-wife and wished her well:
"Annie, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you true love, healing and peace. Farewell, Pretty Wings."
Her interview followed his own, in which he spoke about the end of their marriage as well as how AKA and Tibz's murders affected him.
It also follows the mounting cheating scandals that have been unearthed this week and begs the question of what really goes on behind the doors of some of the country's biggest stars.
Relationship expert Paula Quinsee spoke to Briefly News journalist Tayananiswa Zvikaramba and shared the unlikely benefits of divorce.
She explained that while divorce may be a difficult choice to make, it can be beneficial for a couple.
"While separation or divorce may be painful to consider, in the long run, it can be beneficial to all parties involved as it can provide opportunities for self-reflection, healing and growth, provide clarity on the type of relationship traits and behaviours that co-create safety and nurturing and the ability to redefine their identity outside of the relationship," she shared.
Here's how social media reacted to Daguru's apology
South Africans ridiculed Kgolo's apology and supposed pet name for Annie, "Pretty Wings," which references singer Maxwell's song about a relationship that didn't work out.
olwethumtati laughed:
"Pretty wings? Yhoo, men are so foolish!"
LaciaMolaoli was in disbelief:
"Men have no shame!!! They hurt you, apologise, and still hit you with a dramatic farewell. Imagine 'Pretty Wings', I would fast for 40 days and 40 nights, bru!"
Real_Precious_M wrote:
"Omg, Pretty Wings? I thought she was dead. What a bad choice of words, chile."
laninani2 said:
"'Pretty Wings,' so says someone who treated you like trash. Yhu, I'd lose it!"

SandaMat said:
"There was no need for him to comment with that 'Farewell, Pretty Wings.'"

How did Annie and Daguru meet?
Annie Mthembu, formerly Annie Ludick, met Durban nightclub owner Kgolo “Da Guru” Mthembu in 2016 when she worked as his personal assistant. The pair’s relationship grew over the years, and in 2021, they tied the knot in a lavish wedding at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek, Cape Town. Their celebration was marked by tragedy, as during their traditional wedding weekend, they lost their baby son to stillbirth.
By late 2022, the couple had separated, although they did not immediately go public with the news. In August 2025, Annie confirmed they had been apart for nearly three years, explaining that the breakdown of trust, communication, and respect made reconciliation impossible. She has since focused on her own healing and her children, while Kgolo has faced further financial challenges, including selling furniture and one of his nightclubs.
