Bathong! Renowned broadcaster Penny Lebyane, known for speaking her mind, landed in trouble with several netizens online after defending an alleged victim of cyberbullying.
The drama started when social media user @akanyangm reached out to the police national spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, on Thursday, 14 August 2025. The social media user asked her to look into allegations made by Bianca Coster against popular social media personality Chris Excel. The post was captioned:
"@AthlendaM This 👇🏾 is what Bianca Coster told @TimesLIVE on 18 April 2025. Coster is being impersonated and cyberbullied by the person behind “BackABuddy Donation” for Mkhwanazi. Given the seriousness of such a crime and its impact on Coster, what is the public to make of this?"

Brigadier Athlenda Mathe responded and asked Bianca Coster to call her. The response read:
“Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Please ask Bianca to contact me on 0820408808.”
Penny Lebyane roasted in heated online exchange
Broadcaster Penny Lebyane weighed in with her thoughts. This resulted in her and Chris Excel having a heated exchange, which also saw her being roasted for her saucy pictures.
She expressed hope that Bianca Coster would finally get justice. Her response read:
“Maybe finally Bianca will get justice.”
Chris Excel issued a scathing response and roasted Penny Lebyane for sharing pictures of herself scantily dressed, suggesting that it was inappropriate for someone whose son recently turned 20 years old. The response read:
