Haibo, the South African controversial Bacardi star Jelly Babie, has announced that she will be embarking on her spiritual journey this year.
According to Sunday World, the 19-year-old musician who used to be the late Ma R5's lover confirmed with the publication that she indeed has a spiritual calling and has decided to accept it after holding it off for the past two years.
In essence, the singer will become like Gogo Skhotheni and Gogo Maweni once she finishes her initiation. Jelly Babie, whose real name is Karabo Khakhu, also mentioned that while embarking on his journey, she won't be pausing her music career as her ancestors will have to understand that this is her passion and she can focus both on her career and spirituality at the same time.
"Music is my passion; how can I stop making music? My ancestors know. Music is my other gift. I am still young. There is time for everything. I wear my normal clothes and put on make-up and a wig; I am not going to change who I am. All the challenges I faced were because of this. It is starting to make sense," she said.

Actress Palesa Madisakwane burns her sangoma attire
Well, a lot has happened before Jelly Babie decided to embark on her spiritual journey, as many celebrities who have been on the same journey and were traditional healers decided to ditch everything and become born-again Christians.
In November 2023, actress Palesa Madisakwane, who shares a daughter with choreographer Somizi 'Somgaga' Mhlongo, ditched her spiritual journey. The former Generations actress announced that she had quit being a Sangoma and that she had turned to Christ.
"There is power in the name of Jesus. To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain."
Her video sparked outrage as she burned her attire. People argued that she should not have done that publicly, she infringed on people's rights to believe in whatever they want to. The same can be said of Thabiso Mokhethi, who is now a priest. He argued that there is no such thing as Amadlozi, instead, he said they are monitoring spirits who have familiarised themselves with people.
