Award-winning singer Simphiwe has aired out her frustration with men, claiming that this is the reason she prefers being a lesbian.

The Ndiredi hitmaker said men are too clever, sparking a mix of reactions among her online community.

In an X post on 20 August 2025, Simphiwe Dana exclaimed, "Yoh! Asile amadoda. This is why I prefer being a lesbian shem."

When she came out of the closet, Dana admitted that it took her a while to come to terms with being a lesbian. She announced her engagement to her German-based boo, Phumeza Matshikiza, igniting a storm of mixed opinions online.

Dana's break-up from Pamela, who was also her look-a-like, was only confirmed by a source close to the couple, revealing to Zimoja that there was no bad blood between them. Phumeza was also said to have reunited with her former partner, and that was the end of it.

This marked the end of Simphiwe's romance, but she never stopped being a lesbian.
