Controversial podcast host Nota Baloyi sparked social media chatter after claiming that he had been offered a radio presenting gig. Baloyi's claim came hours after Kaya FM announced that Sol Phenduka had been suspended.

Taking to his X account hours after Kaya FM’s surprise announcement, Nota claimed that an unnamed radio station had approached him with a job offer. He claimed to have turned down the job offer because he was interested in owning a stake in the station.

The podcaster, who was previously in trouble with the SAHRC over his comments, said he would ask his parents for advice. The post was captioned:

“Got offered a radio gig today. I don’t want it, though; I just want the equity. Need to ask my mother what she advises so I can do the opposite after running past my dad!”

Social media user @AsanteGraceX asked if he’d been offered Sol Phenduka’s position at Kaya FM:

“Sol’s position 😂”

Nota Baloyi responded with an emphatic, “No”.

Station managers allegedly offer Sol Phenduka radio gigs

It turns out that Nota Baloyi isn't the only one allegedly getting job offers.

Briefly News reported that Sol Phenduka claimed that some station managers had reached out to him after news of his suspension.

Taking to X (Twitter) on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, Sol Phenduka revealed that certain station managers have been calling him, but the ink is not even dry yet.
