Babalwa Mcaciso is trending after users accused her of lying about her designer items.

The influencer showed off her blue Louis Vuitton Capucines Mini during an outfit reveal for an outing in Dubai on 20 August 2025. She wore a matching dress and shared the video both on Instagram and TikTok, and it wasn't long before social media called her out.

One of her followers, leeylaah_l, went to the comments section to confirm where the handbag was from after Mcaciso said it was from Louis Vuitton:

"Babalwa?!?? Where is that bag from?"

This follows allegations that she was posted by a replica seller BuyBuy Station, after purchasing one of their items

Twitter (X) users maphumi_ and RamaphiriMpho claimed that Mcaciso is a religious supporter of the affordable luxury retailer, and were shocked that she would lie about where her bag was from:

RamaphiriMpho said:

"One thing about her, she is the face of Buy Buy Station."

maphumi_ added:

"My girl did a promo for an LV replica retailer. She said in the video that the bag was from LV, but the replica retailer posted her as a happy customer."

While the authentic Capucines Minis, also owned by Thuli Phongolo, start from R80,000 and can go up to R150,000, replicas cost much less, with Digital Shoppers selling one for R10,000.

Babalwa is known for her glamorous lifestyle as a famous influencer and often flaunts her stunning designer accessories on social media.

She also collaborates with top brands like Daniel Wellington to Country Road, and perceives herself as someone who lives a very comfortable life.
