A local prankster, JD Heyns, had one of two Afrikaner musicians hot under the collar when he made it difficult for them to enter a concert they were to perform at. The viral clip had many fans of the artists laughing after seeing their reactions.
JD, who uploaded a snippet of the prank on his TikTok account on 31 July, 2025, disguised himself as a Sniper security official at the 2025 Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK). The KKNK is an Afrikaans language arts festival, showing both visual and performing arts that takes place in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, annually. This year's festival took place from 1-6 April, 2025.
With the help of Afrikaans singer Mathys Roets, JD pranked Afrikaans guitarists Mel Botes and Wouter van de Venter by stating that only famous artists could enter through a certain door of the venue.

JD insisted that he didn't know who Mel and Wouter were, which prompted Mel to share that he collaborated with Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr and was about to perform with Mathys.
As the prank continued, Mel was visibly annoyed and cursed. JD then told him:
"Steve wouldn't have acted like that."
Mel then said to JD:
"You have no manners! The first thing you need to do when someone arrives is greet them."
The prank ended with JD saying he would let the artists inside if they could get him Steve's autograph. Mel showed him that he had Steve's number on his phone, leading to an apology from the content creator.
Successful with his prank, JD wrote in the comment section:
"Those two guys are the most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. Sniper really pushed all the wrong buttons."
The full video on YouTube showed JD meeting up with the now-laughing men, who had to admit that they got pranked.
