Clifton and Camps Bay are long known for their beachside glamour, with properties fetching tens of millions of rand thanks to uninterrupted sea views. Bantry Bay, nestled just around the corner, is famed for being wind-free and offers some of the most architecturally ambitious homes on the continent. Bishopscourt, on the other hand, sits further inland, offering sprawling estates surrounded by lush gardens and towering trees, a haven for old money and dignitaries.
These neighbourhoods are often compared to exclusive international destinations like Beverly Hills or Monaco. They represent the pinnacle of South African luxury, with international buyers and billionaires competing for a spot. For many locals, however, the footage also sparked conversation about inequality in a country where access to housing remains a challenge for the majority.
