SA outraged by bystanders’ behaviour during hijacking attempt

Last Friday, three men targeted a woman travelling alone at a petrol station in Retreat, Cape Town. The criminals got into the car and attacked the lady.

Bystanders, including petrol attendants and customers, pretended not to see anything while the woman fought off the perpetrators. The men lost the battle to take the car and took some of the lady’s belongings.

She did not let them get away with a fight and managed to get one of her bags after chasing after the robbers. The woman went back into her car, but still, nobody went to check if she was okay.

The petrol attendants kept roaming the scene without offering their help. The people of Mzansi were very disappointed by the people who witnessed the incident and chose not to act.
