WESTERN CAPE – Floyd Shivambu has no plans to resign from the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, but that hasn’t stopped him from criticising the organisation.
The former Secretary-General of the MK Party had harsh words for the movement, saying that he doesn’t believe it will be around in ten years. Shivambu made the comments during a Mayibuye consultation meeting in the Western Cape.

Speaking at a consultation meeting for his potential political movement, Shivambu said he predicted a bleak future for Jacob Zuma’s party. The former Economic Freedom Fighters member said that the party was struggling to become an organisation, and it would not be an organisation.

He added that while many of the people gathered at the meeting would still be around in the next ten years, the party would not be. He then added that it may not even take that long.
“In less than 10 years, there won’t be an organisation called uMkhonto weSizwe in South Africa," he stated.
He added that the party did not have the fortitude, ideologically, spiritually, or organisationally, to outlive its current problems. He said that those who were thinking that there would be a party in ten years were wasting their time, which is why he started the process to create an organisation that was a true representation of all people.
