What happened?
The accident, which occurred earlier this morning, involved a minibus and a truck. According to Department of Transport and Human Settlements, the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma, received a report from the Road Traffic Inspectorate’s highly efficient and dedicated team.
Emergency responders, police, and the Road Traffic Inspectorate are currently at the scene of the accident. Motorists heading toward Gauteng are being urged to exercise caution on the N3.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya extended condolences to the victims’ families and confirmed that a departmental team has been assigned to reach out to those affected by the tragedy.
Second fatal truck accident in a week
Just last week, another four people were killed four people in a collision on the N2 between Dokodweni and Amatigulu on KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast.
The accident, which occurred around 8:30 am, involved a light motor vehicle and a truck, according to Department of Transport and Human Settlements spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya.

4 Killed in Western Cape collision between 2 vehicles

The incident happened at the KwaNokuthula intersection in the early hours at 2:20 am. A bus and a vehicle collided with each other. It's unclear how the collision took place. Four people were confirmed dead.
