A former Kaizer Chiefs defender Omega Mdaka has commented on his impressive start to the 2025/26 PSL season with his new club Stellenbosch FC.

Mdaka was the direct replacement for Fawaaz Basadien in the left back position after the Stellies last season best player decided to join Sundowns this summer.

Steve Barker's side sealed a remarkable 2-0 win over Sekhukhune in the second semi-final after Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates played out a 1-1 draw in the first semis at the Orlando Stadium.

After being named the Man of the Match, Mdaka shared how he can do bad things despite doing well against Babina Noko.

"Above all, I’m grateful to God and the coaching staff for this incredible opportunity and for believing in me," Mdaka shared with SuperSport TV after being named MTN8 Man of the Match, earning the R8,000 prize.
"This journey has kicked off on a positive note for me. I know I’ve made mistakes that have affected the team, but I’m learning and getting better with each game."

The Kaizer Chiefs academy product also unveiled what is focus are this season as he continue to make impact in Barker's side.
