Yossef looks backs on Tuesday's victory over Richards Bay

The stand-in coach also reflected on Tuesday night’s victory over Richards Bay, where his tactical gamble proved decisive. After a cagey first half, he made key substitutions that swung momentum in Chiefs’ favour.

“At halftime, we spoke about some tactical adjustments we needed to make,” Youssef told SuperSport TV.
“The tempo had to increase, and we knew we needed to take a chance. We decided to substitute Ox [Sibongiseni Mthethwa] and bring on Thabo Cele, with Mshini and Sirino playing centrally. It turned out to be the right decision; Sirino ended up scoring.”

“Sirino looked sharp, hungry and determined. That goal was a clear warning shot to his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns. Chiefs finally have a player who can produce moments of magic in tight games,” Bafana said.

Beyond individual brilliance, Bafana believes Amakhosi are beginning to show a level of consistency and structure missing in recent seasons.

“What stands out for me is the balance between defence and attack. They aren’t just grinding out results; there’s clear discipline and cohesion in the team,” he added.
